We are part of the NHS, helping the UK ambulance service prepare for the most challenging responses
NARU is part of the NHS, a relatively small but dynamic body that works directly with UK ambulance services to improve national resilience across the wider health service.
A key NARU aim is to help individual ambulance services develop better and safer ways to treat patients caught in especially challenging and hazardous situations, and to save more lives when this happens.
Although it is part of (and funded by) the NHS, NARU works closely with representatives of several Government departments, especially those tasked with national resilience and civil contingencies.
As a result, NARU staff engage and work daily with a broad range of stakeholders across the whole emergency preparedness, resilience and response landscape.
