MARK NORBURY
New SWASFT Governor Mark Norbury

Mark Norbury, NARU’s National Ambulance Resilience Coordinator has been elected (out of 3 candidates) to the South Western Ambulance Service Foundation Trust’s Council of Governors to represent volunteers.

The Trust has a total of 34 Governors – 19 Public and 9 Appointed – and Mark falls into the latter category along with A&E (East, North and West) Admin & Support and Urgent Care Services. He received 48% of the votes.

Says Mark: “I was very pleasantly surprised to receive the appointment letter from the Electoral Commission and am looking forward to undertaking this role alongside my NARU job. My role is to inform the development and future strategy of the Trust, act as a guardian of the Trust on behalf of the local community holding the Trust Board to account for the Trust’s performance, and to be a link between the Trust and its volunteers.”

Keith Prior, Director of NARU, says: “I am very proud of Mark’s achievement as will be his other colleagues in NARU. Mark is a former Lieutenant Colonel in the British Army, and has been a very active and well respected volunteer First Responder in his home community for a number of years, so he is perfectly placed to undertake this role.”
