Secondment Opportunity: 1 post
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a six-month secondment within the National Ambulance Resilience Unit for a dynamic and enthusiastic ambulance manager who has extensive knowledge of Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) operations and emerging threat-based responses. The successful applicant will support the NARU Capabilities Programme by coordinating specific compliance and assurance work streams reporting to the NARU Compliance Officer. These work streams will include the implementation of a revised safe system of work for HART teams and other specialist capabilities across the country. You will be involved in drafting operational procedures, national risk assessments and coordinating the interface with safety critical systems. Based at a Multi-Agency Centre within the College of Policing in Ryton, you will regularly travel to HART units around the country and visit other agencies including the Fire and Rescue Service, Police and voluntary agencies.
Your principle focus will be achieving an effective clinical response in high-risk environments whilst ensuring staff and patient safety. To achieve this you will have both an analytical mind and operational experience of delivering patient care in hazardous situations. You must be enthusiastic about effective risk management.
The secondment is fully funded and will require the successful applicant to reside away from home on occasions at the College of Policing in Ryton and other locations around the country as required. You will be required to work 37.5 hours over a 4 day period each week. The release date will be through negotiation with the successful applicant’s Trust but an early start is being sought.
The successful applicant should be able to demonstrate the following (Please see Job Description for full list):
- Operational / incident management experience in hazardous or high-risk environments.
- Experience in drafting operating procedures and risk assessments.
- Experience of assessing and applying safe systems of work.
- Able to demonstrate experience of multi agency working within the emergency services environment.
If successful the candidate will be seconded to the NARU and NHS terms and conditions would apply.
