Mike Shanahan, the Deputy Director of the National Ambulance Resilience Unit (NARU) for the past two years, has returned to Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust, following the completion of his two year secondment.
A mini-restructuring within the NARU Central Management Team will see the role’s responsibilities absorbed by the rest of the NARU team and it is expected that West Midlands Ambulance Service Assistant Chief Ambulance Officer Keith Prior who remains the Director of NARU will take a more active role in the day-to-day operations of the organisation. Says Mr Prior:
I would like to thank Mike for his hard work and service over the past two years whilst we have established NARU. Mike has helped us implement strong governance and management and has helped ensure we have delivered our objectives for the Department of Health and for NHS England. We now have a very firm platform to build on at NARU and I would like to wish Mike all the best for his future career.”
