NARU’s National Ambulance Resilience Coordinator Mark Norbury formally retired from the ambulance service at the end of October, having been with NARU since its inception.
He joined NARU after a successful career in the Army where he rose to the rank of Lt Colonel.
Mark was the regular NARU attendee at the national ambulance Emergency Preparedness, Resilience and Response Group (EPRRG) meetings and was instrumental in establishing the National Ambulance Coordination Centre (NACC).
He was also a Governor of South Western Ambulance Service and a prolific Community First Responder (CFR) for many years.
NARU National Director Keith Prior said:
“Mark was a valuable and loyal member of staff and will be much missed by us all at NARU, and across the wider ambulance service. I wish him the very best for the future in his much-deserved retirement.”
