London Ambulance Service to mark ‘999 Day’ with events and two minute silence
On Thursday 9th September we will join the nation in marking Emergency Services Day (999 Day).
This annual event honours the fantastic work of all staff and volunteers in the emergency services and we are proud to take part at London Ambulance Service.
At 9am on Thursday morning a small group of our staff will gather outside our headquarters in Waterloo – in our memorial garden – to observe a two minute silence, joining the nation in a moment of reflection and remembrance.
This gives us the opportunity to acknowledge the hard work of our teams and our emergency services partners throughout the pandemic. It's also an opportunity to remember those colleagues who we have sadly lost.
We will reflect on the fantastic collaboration with our emergency services partners, who have supported us throughout this challenging time - and continue to do so. Meanwhile, our new Chief Executive Daniel Elkeles, Trust Board Chair Heather Lawrence and a number of colleagues from across our Service will join partners at a 999 Day flag-raising event at the City of London’s Guildhall.
