The NARU Education Centre at Winterbourne Gunner has had a busy start to 2017 with a comprehensive course schedule designed to support HART teams and ambulance trusts.

usar_jan_2016_2 Says NARU Head of Education & Training Dave Bull QAM:

“I’m extremely proud of the whole team at the Centre who continue to deliver excellent, high quality training in a pressurised – and often very cold – environment.

The delegates themselves also deserve praise and it is important to recognise that some delegates attending HART training spend six consecutive weeks away from home, which underlines their level of commitment to the job.

Two back-to-back Urban Search and Rescue courses are being delivered in January and February using our facilities at Winterbourne, with the final exercises at the Fire Service College.

These are followed by an Extended Duration Breathing Apparatus course and then a four-week residential Incident Response Unit course until the end of March.

iru_sept_2015_13Running alongside these courses we have three Tactical and five Operational Competency assessed command courses, plus two MTFA and one PRPS instructor course.

These courses assist ambulance services in maintaining their local resilience capabilities so its vital they are of the highest quality.”

Looking ahead, the course calendar for next year has been passed to trusts and the details will soon appear in the on-line calendar.

Work has also started on developing the training information sheets aligned to the developing HART Safe Systems of Work programme.
